Case Study 7

First, and foremost, ask yourself if you have helped your mid-level manager friend to an extent that subsequently asking him to help you is appropriate to your relationship. If so, proceed. If no, consider other ways of help that would be roughly equal to what you want to ask for in return. The reason for reflection and caution is this: You would be asking hour friend to help you get business from his company; Which means, in addition to introducing you to the "right" people, he is also vouching for your skills, abilities and character. This is asking a lot from anyone. So be sure you have enough "frequent networker points" to justify his involvement.
