Case Study 2

Based on what you know, what should be your follow-up actions?

  1. Immediately after lunch, confirm dates with your networking partner when he/she might be able to meet your contact.
  2. Call your contact, brief him/her about the person you would like to introduce, and most importantly, why meeting that person should be worthwhile.
  3. Suggest dates when the three of you might meet (lunch, after work, etc.,) to get acquainted.
  4. Confirm the date selected with your networking partner. Brief your networking partner about your contact, and stress again—why the meeting could be beneficial.
  5. At the prescribed time, introduce the two, get the conversation started by talking about each of them, then step aside and let them talk. Interject only when the conversation falters, or a key point needs to be emphasized. Otherwise, this is not about you. It is about them.
